Staff Fire Awareness Training Course
Introduction
Outline aims and objectives of the course ie. Familiarisation of fire actions and company procedures.
Understanding Fire
Understanding the fire triangle, housekeeping in the workplace, ignition and spread of fire. Use of DVD film to highlight importance of fire prevention and safety.
Portable Fire Extinguishers Theory
Types of Portable Fire Extinguisher. Identification of fire type, siting and suitability of extinguyishers for use in different situations. DVD to illustrate selection and principles.
Evacuation
Fire signs, escape routes, assembly point procedures.
Portable Fire Extinguisher ? Practical Demonstration
Use of portable fire extinguishers on live fires. This demonstration is only possible if the client has a safe area to use a small controlled fire.
Summary
Questions and issue of certificates.
This Course lasts for approximately two hours.
Fire Marshal / Warden Course
We are happy to discuss with you specifically who needs to attend this course, but generally the qualification would be:
- Employers who are acting as the Responsible person;
- Fire Wardens and deputies to cover in their absence;
- Fire Marshal and deputy to cover in their absence;
- Senior Mangement with overall Fire responsibilities.
This course lasts for approx. 3 hours, and covers all of the above points and practical demonstrations, although it is more intense and designed more for management level and Fire Wardens.
This course covers more detail on:
- Legislation and personal responsibilities;
- Role of the Fire Marshal and Fire Warden.
In House Training Courses
We also offer in house training courses in our Bicester Offices on a monthly basis. This popular course enables companies to enrol one or more employees, to provides a cost effective solution to your training needs.
The course is a half-day course, which is designed to train and certificate Fire Marshals.
