A wireless or wired ceiling-mounted heat detector continuously monitors temperature changes in the room. When a heat rise is detected, the detector signals an alarm to all linked sprinklers. When multiple heat detectors identify a heat increase, the fire sprinkler head with a direct view of the fire will lock onto the heat source and communicate this to the control panel.
The rotating sprinkler head scans its environment to locate the source of the fire using an infrared sensor and intelligent algorithm. Once the sprinkler system has located the fire, it directs a high-pressure jet of water mist at the fire. The water jet is very powerful, delivering 5.6 litres of water per minute in a vertical water mist blade made up of droplets less than 100 µm in size. The dense mist starves the fire of oxygen at its base, working to rapidly suppress the fire and eventually extinguish, creating survivable conditions that allow any trapped individuals to formulate escape routes.
With Automist, fire protection is easy, efficient and enhanced.
